Justin Hartman

Justin Hartman is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt under Ashley Wheat and founder/owner of The Jackson Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy. 

Justin started training BJJ in 2015 at Ground Control Owings Mills in Maryland. He immediately fell in love with the art and began training consistently. After moving to Jackson, TN in 2016, Justin began training under Ashley Wheat at Glory BJJ. Without looking back, Justin changed his profession to train and coach full time. Since then, he has developed successful kids, adults, and competition programs as well as trained local area law enforcement.  Justin’s passion for excellence and desire to see every student become their best make him one of the most requested coaches in the area. You can catch him on the mats at JBJJA every day or cross-training with local academies!

Thomas Ashley Wheat

Ashley Wheat is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black belt under Luiz Palhares. Born and raised in Jackson, TN, Ashley Started training Jiu-jitsu in 1999. He received his Blue belt from Master Royce Gracie in 2003. His training continued Under Master Luiz Palhares where he earned his Purple (2005) Brown (2007), and Black Belt (2010) promotions. Ashley is Level 1 crossfit certified, an accomplished regional MMA/Jiu-Jitsu coach, and life long martial artist. Going on 20+years of teaching Jiu-Jitsu in Jackson, he is constantly studying film to ensure he is teaching the highest quality of BJJ to his students. Rhece Davis

Rhece Davis is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown belt under Ashley Wheat. Rhece Started training MMA at the age of 16 and has walked the martial artist’s path since that time.  Always up for a challenge, he has 6 MMA fights under his belt and has helped develop many MMA fighters in the Jackson martial arts community. Rhece started to focus on his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and coaching at 25 and has lived on the mats ever since. You can catch Rhece wrist locking blue belts nightly at JBJJA!

Kenny Rich

Kenny Rich is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Purple Belt under Ashley Wheat. Kenny is a dedicated husband, father, and public servant. He has been in West Tennessee law enforcement for over 12 years and is currently with the Humboldt PD. Kenny has trained MMA and Jiu-Jitsu since 2005, is a Tennessee POST certified instructor in ground defense, and regularly instructs law enforcement training in Gracie Survival Tactics. You can catch Kenny in any of the early morning classes throughout the week!
